A seven year-old boy from Wakaw is suffering from injuries after he was allegedly struck by a school bus Thursday afternoon.

At around 3:30pm, the Wakaw RCMP received reports that the boy was struck by a bus that was traveling north on 2nd Avenue in the town about a block from the school.

The boy was taken back into the school by a passerby and treated by EMS before he was flown to Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital via STARS. The extent of his injuries is not known but the police say he was wearing a helmet.

A 55-year-old Wakaw man has been arrested for Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and released to appear in court on July 12th.

The name of the accused is not being released pending the laying of formal charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
