Last Sunday night Prince Albert RCMP responded to an attempted break and enter on Cote Drive in the RM of Buckland and ended up with damages to a police vehicle after it was rammed several times, followed a few hours later by an arrest.

An RCMP news release reports that officers located a vehicle matching the description given. It was in a parking lot, so they turned their emergency lights on and approached it. The vehicle was rammed several times, but no officers were injured. The driver of the suspect vehicle then fled on foot while a woman in the vehicle was arrested on a warrant from the Prince Albert Police Service. It was later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The RCMP with help from the Police Service located and arrested a 26-year-old man a few hours later, early Monday morning. Twenty-six-year-old Mario Caribou from Sandy Bay is facing six charges including two counts of assault on a police officer with a weapon, two counts of resisting a peace officer, and one count each of flight from a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He appeared in P.A. Provincial Court on Tuesday.
