On December 2nd, during the Broncos game against the Kindersley Klippers SaskEnergy was on hand as part of the Goals for Kidsport campaign.

Through the season the energy provider for Saskatchewan will contribute up to $20,000 total towards local Kidsport chapters via home goals scored by their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team. As part of the campaign each team also has a special night devoted to raising some funds for their local group.

Mike Ulriksen, the chair of the Humboldt Kidsport says the event went well for the second straight year.

"Thanks to the generosity of those that were in attendance that night we were able to raise just over $900 that stays in Humboldt to support more kids being able to take part in more sports in our community, that is amazing."

Local SaskEnergy employees, Kidsport board members and other volunteers helped sell raffle tickets for three different prize packages that contributed to the funding.

As for the actual goals portion, Ulriksen is excited about that funding as well.

"We're looking at probably another $700 or $800 coming from that come Spring. This campaign in general we're looking at 10 to 15 kids that are going to get to benefit thanks to the hard work SaskEnergy and Kidsport are doing."

As part of the campaign as well, SaskEnergy helped the Broncos honour a pair of long time team volunteers prior to the game with the SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Award. That went to Carrie Dutchak and Diane Walby.
