Canadian golfer Alena Sharp honored the Humboldt Broncos at The CP Canadian Women's Open in Regina, SK, and in turn, helped out the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation.

She was sporting a green golf bag embedded with the Broncos logo to honor the 29 members on the bus during the crash on April 6th. This bag was then auctioned off by the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation at one of the evening's events for $19,000.

Laurie Bunko, The Executive Director of The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation said, 'We were caught off guard and just excited. We are very grateful for the generosity of these people."

The HDHF and The Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation had a partnership last year during the Friends for Healthcare Charity Scramble and Bunko added, "We believe in partnerships, we believe in helping one another out and building bridges rather than creating barriers."

After discovering the amount of money that the bag was auctioned off for, Alena Sharp tweeted, "I am at a loss for words. I'm so happy that my golf bag raised a lot of awareness and $19,000 for pediatric equipment that will benefit Humboldt children.

The funds will be going towards a new incubator for the pediatric unit.
