A former Humboldt resident was sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Cheyenne Antoine, 21, was charged in March of last year for second-degree murder in the March 2015 death of Brittney Gargol.
After an extensive investigation, police found that Antoine had killed Gargol by strangling her with a belt. The two were intoxicated at the time of her death.
The crown agreed to a manslaughter charge in exchange for Antoine's guilty plea.
