On Saturday afternoon the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier kicked off in Brandon, Manitoba.

For the first draw, Team Saskatchewan took on the host Team Manitoba. Saskatchewan would gain a 3 point lead after the first three ends of play. Manitoba would answer back in the fourth end by counting two rocks, making the score 3-2 for Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan would collect another point in the fifth, making the score 4-2 at halftime.

In the Second half, Manitoba would gain momentum. Team Manitoba outscored Saskatchewan 5-2 through the remaining five ends. After counting two in the tenth end, Team Manitoba walked away with a 7-6 victory.

Team Saskatchewan would have a bye in the second draw of the tournament as they have two games on Sunday against Team Yukon at 9 AM and Team Prince Edward Island at 7 PM.
