The Humboldt broncos have stretched their winning streak to 5.

In a hostile environment where the Broncos have won once in the last five years, Humboldt scored the opening two goals, then held off the Hawks late charge to come away with a 2-1 victory.

There was no scoring in the first, as both Bronco goalie Rayce Ramsay and Hawks tender Declan Hobbs were perfect in the opening frame.

The second period was where the Broncos jumped out in front. Drew Warkentine, who was acquired in a trade on November 13th,  scored the opening goal of the game in his first game for the Broncos. Chase Felgeuiras and Brayden Camrud picked up the assists.

Just over a minute later, Derek Patter stretched the lead to two. The assists handed out to Tyler Smith and Chase Felgueiras. Smith's first point of the season and Patter with goals in back to back games.

That was all the offense the Broncos needed as in the third they would hold the Hawks to a single goal and come away with a 2-1 victory.

Rayce Ramsay stopped 34 of 35 in the victory.

The Broncos have now evened up the season series at two games a piece, with two games remaining.

The Broncos wont have much time to rest. They'll lace up the skates the next day on November 17th when they host the Notre Dame Hounds at the EPA
