Christina Elizabeth Storey
December 3, 1912 – March 30, 2019

We are sad to announce that Christina “Chris” Elizabeth (nee Molberg) Storey of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, died on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at her residence. She was 106 years of age. Chris, the 8th of 12 children, was born in Midale, SK, on December 3, 1912. She was raised by loving Swedish parents, Samuel and Anna (nee Wik) Molberg and had many happy memories of her early life on the farm and at school. Chris left home at 16 years of age to go to Brandon College for her Grade 12, followed by her BA (Class of ‘33). She became a Psychiatric Nurse (Brandon Mental Hospital, Class of ‘36), and a General Nurse (Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC, Class of ‘39). She returned to Brandon to work as a night supervisor and an operating room nurse at the Mental Hospital. It was in Brandon that Chris met Arnold Storey. They married in 1942, ten days before Arnold left for England to serve with the RCAF Medical Corps. Chris joined the British Nursing Reserve and worked in emergency hospitals in England as well. Her first of three daughters was born there at the end of the war. Once her girls were in school, Chris worked in a Saskatoon doctor’s office until she retired in 1977. Her life was full, and her interests and skills were many. She maintained close ties to her large extended family and her many friends. Her Christian faith was unwavering, her counsel was wise, her strength of character and kindness were evident to all who knew her. Chris was thankful in all circumstances. She was a blessing to her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Chris is survived by two daughters: Joan (William) Egnatoff, and Dorothy (Danny) Cooke; grandchildren: Anna (Darin) Felstrom, William (Kimberley) Cooke, Mark Cooke, Elizabeth (Roberto Morales) Egnatoff, and Peter Egnatoff; great-grandchildren: Elsa, Trygve, Stefan Felstrom, and Santiago Egnatoff Morales; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Storey (1989); daughter Carol Storey (1969); parents, Samuel and Anna (nee Wik) Molberg; six sisters and five brothers: Clara (Tom) Nordby, Rueben (Ida) Molberg, Esther (Hans) Christensen, Edith (Albert) Larson, Alice (Maurice) Jacobson, Edward (Eva) Molberg, Philip (Lois, Myrtle) Molberg, John (Lillian) Molberg, Sarah (Allan) McGillivray, George (Alphild) Molberg, and Jean (Leslie) Brammall; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends thanks for the loving care and support provided to Chris by caregivers at Bethany, Luther Tower, and Saskatoon Home Care. A Service of Remembrance and Worship was held at First Baptist Church, 4th Ave. & 25th St., Saskatoon, on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Darin Felstrom.
