It was a busy weekend on area ball diamonds starting on Saturday with a home double header for the East Central 18 Dodgers when the Saskatoon Giants took to James Korte Field.

The Giants edged the Red Sox 2 zip in what was mostly a pitchers duel. The Giants scored a single in each of the first two innings. Sox pitchers Dexter Gusikowski and Dominic Weninger combining to allow only 6 hits, but they faced a Giants pitching duo of Tobin Issel and Ethan Camp that allowed only 1 hit by Riley Sylvester in the third.

The second game saw the Giants jump to an early lead and they wouldn’t look back as they defeated the Red Sox 15-7. The Giants onslaught started early with a 6 nothing lead in the first. The Sox rallied with 3 runs in the 3rd in part thanks to a Jack Biemans single that drove in a pair, but the damage had been done as the Giants took the second game.
