Edward Klimek
May 18, 1943 – May 3, 2023

It is with much sorrow that the family announces the passing of Edward Peter Joseph Klimek. Ed passed suddenly at Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, just 15 days shy of his 80th birthday. He was born in Humboldt, SK, on May 18, 1943, to Peter and Theresa (nee Valmont) Klimek. Ed was a hard worker and loved the land. His ambition was to be a farmer like his dad. Faith intervened – he suffered numerous ailments which restricted his quality of life. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Theresa (nee Valmont) Klimek; brother Leonard Klimek; and sister Loretta Nosworthy. Left to mourn are his sisters, Lylean Klimek, Christine Ratch, Georgina (Jack) Palahitski, and Janet (Clarence) Zilkie; sister-in-law Cynthia Klimek and her daughter Theresa Klimek; brothers: Daniel (Gail) Klimek and Robert Klimek; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Pioneer Village for the kindness and support they gave Ed during his stay. They treated him like their extended family, making him feel truly at home. Thank you. God saw you getting tired and sent His angels to take you home. Love you Ed – we will miss you. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Lake Lenore, SK, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Prosper Abotsi. Others taking part were: Mary Flaman and Doris Hoffman, scripture readers; Naomi Prodhal, organist; Collette Gerwing, director with St. Anthony’s Parish Choir, music ministry; and Christine Ratch, urn bearer. Honorary Pallbearers were “all of you who are here to celebrate Ed’s life”. Interment took place following the funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lake Lenore, Sk.
