This whole "winter in September" thing this year has been a rather daunting phenomenon. Many fashion-focused Canadian women can be left with some wardrobe concerns.

I know that since the days of confidently walking out the door in a sundress and sandals are arguably behind us, what to wear to work at this confusing time of year may pose some challenges.

Layers are key; something a seasoned Saskatchewanian fashionista is familiar with. The beautiful thing about layering scarves, blazers, and outerwear now is that all of those elements can really showcase personal style, all the while serving us practically.

My new pre-work routine includes checking the day's forecast on my phone, throwing on my fall jacket, and sliding into my ankle boots, (and NEVER forget a scarf).

Forgoing our flipflops for closed-toe pumps is the name of the fall fashion game. I'm embracing the cooler temps with high style on the brain, and I urge you to do the same.

If I find myself staring down wistfully at my discarded wedges from warmer days past, I'll take solace in knowing they will return again.
