The SJHL has announced its player awards for the first two weeks of the regular season, and the Broncos have scooped up two out of the four weekly honours.

Humboldt Broncos' Captain, Doug Scott has been named the SJHL Defenseman of the Week stemming from the start of the season to November 16. Scott joins Logan Kurki who took home Player of the Week.

The captain's hot start has him leading all SJHL defensemen with seven points (2g, 5a) in four games so far this season. Scott scored the overtime winner in the Broncos' home opener against the Yorkton Terriers on November 10. He then followed that up with a four-point performance against the Estevan Bruins on November 14.

Scott's offensive exploits have carried over from the strong season he had after joining the Broncos midway through the 2019/20 season. Scott compiled 30 points in 26 games last year after being acquired from the BCHL's Merritt Centennials. His 1.15 points per game led all defensemen a year ago.

Scott will look for continued success when the Humboldt Broncos take on the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday, November 21.
