The students and families of Lake Lenore School showed their support for cancer research at their 2019 Terry Fox Walk.

84 students participated in the Terry Fox Walk on Friday, September 27th. The school students collectively raised a total of $2,138.75 for cancer research.

"We have been participating in the Terry Fox Walk for many many years. We usually raise somewhere around $1000-$1500 a year. The last two years we've done really well. The community has stepped up and our kids have done an amazing job going out and seeking those donations," said Lake Lenore School Principal, Ralph Viczko.

The students all get pledge forms and head out to family or community members for donations. Lake Lenore's Terry Fox Walk was organized by the School Librarian, Rhona Brinkman, to its great success.

"She does a very good job at promoting the walk, what the Terry Fox Walk means for cancer research in Canada, and relating that to our students," said Viczko.

Schools all across Canada showed their support during Terry Fox Walks, and it was surely evident at the small school of Lake Lenore.
