Shine the spotlight on the SJHL Showcase and focus it right on the Humboldt Broncos.

The Broncos completed the showcase sweep, and secured their third victory in a row, with a 4-1 win over the Yorkton Terriers on Wednesday, September 25th.

It was an early start for the green and gold, as puck drop at the Legends Centre in Warman, SK was 11:00 AM. The offence also started early. Tristan Shewchuck got the Broncos on the board halfway through the first period for his 6th goal in as many games. Humboldt added another, courtesy of Logan Foster with under two minutes to play in the opening frame. Foster's goal came shorthanded and was assisted by Max Gudnason, who was playing in his first game for the Broncos.

The Terriers' lone goal of the game was scored by their captain, Chance Petruic in the second period to cut the Broncos lead in half.

In the third, Gudnason's night got even better as he completed a tic-tac-toe passing play that was started by Cody Hough, went through Justin Jamer, and resulted in Gudnason's first career junior goal. If the spotlight wasn't already shining bring enough, Bryson Cecconi added the insurance marker on a highlight-reel goal. He put the puck between his legs, walked around a defender, before cutting through the crease and beating Terriers'goalie, Cooper Kennedy.

The Broncos powerplay scored for the fourth straight game and was 1 for 4 on the night. The penalty kill went a perfect 3 for 3.

Michael Harroch supplied another solid start in net, stopping 37 of 38 for his first Jr. A victory.

The Broncos will be back in action on Friday, September 27th on the road in Kindersley.
