Getting a book from the Wynyard high school library has never been easier with the new outdoor library.

The outdoor library was built last summer by the school's shop teacher. Wynyard high school placed the library outside the school and is always open to students.

WCHS created the library to encourage students to read more during summer time and outside of school. The library runs on a take a book, leave a book system. So students must put a book in the library before checking one out.

"We have other little free libraries in our community that are more geared toward children or adults. So I thought it would be a good option to gear it towards teenagers or our market at school, Grade 7-12," said Ms. Jordan with WCHS.

The library holds up to 40 books and the community of Wynyard has had nothing but good words about the library.
