The board and staff at the Watson Regional Daycare Centre is ecstatic with their fundraising golf tournament this year.

They raised $4,400 thanks to a huge uptake in entries as Board Member Shauna Galacz explains.

"We're on year three now, we had a great turn out. We have 42 golfers golfing with us today, lots of new people and lots of returnees from the last two years so it's been great."

That number rose from just 15 last year.

The funds that are raised are going towards capital projects at their facility, they recently purchased a large gazebo to expand their outdoor space.

As for the daycare itself, Galacz boasts that it's stabalized their community.

"There is no worry about even when new families move in, we have a daycare. It's perfect, it's attached to the school so any school aged kids can come in the morning and you know they are safe to ge tto school, they are safe to get there after school."

The tournament featured a dingy challenge which was placed in a water hazard that you needed to hit, they also had a hole in one contest which went unclaimed. It all happened Sunday at McNab Park in Watson.
