What started out as a snowfall warning for the Humboldt area Monday morning is continuing as a blizzard warning.

An early March blast of January is impacting the region for one more day, as winds gust up to 80 kilometres per hour.

That will be the main issue on area roadways throughout Tuesday, as snowfall amounts are expected to be quite minimal, as they were on Monday when Humboldt saw less than one-inch fall.

"We could see reduced visibilities with snow and blowing snow. If you are travelling east, you should probably change your plans," noted Environment Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang.

While the blizzard conditions are expected to move out on Tuesday evening and the overnight period, leading to sunshine the remainder of the week, temperatures won't be all that warm, according to Lang.

"Towards the end of the week, we are looking at things trying to get near normal, but we are in that cold pattern, so people should be prepared to winter to stick around for a little while."

She added that we are looking at a mid-March return to seasonal conditions.
