Around this time of year combines are out for the harvest season but not for 2018.

Farmers may not be the happiest bunch at the moment as the weather in Humboldt and the surrounding area has been wet and cold over the past two weeks. As a result, harvest has come to a complete stop.

The only way to get back out in the field is if the area gets a few sunny and windy days to help dry the grain. If the grain is wet not only can it cause problems on the combine, but also in the bin. Farmers will have to put their grain through a grain dryer to prevent the grain from going bad.

"We still do have time, I know it doesn't feel like that the past couple of weeks but there still is a little bit of time here and hopefully it doesn't come to the point where anything is left out in the field, but time will tell I guess," said crop extension specialist, Daphne Cruise.

If the weather does not clear up within the next few weeks, some farmers are going to be a little anxious to get most of their crop off.
