Students at Watson School took a break from regular classes to rally behind a worthwhile cause. The Watson School Community Council is raising money for a new playground structure and hosted a Skate-A-Thon at the Watson Arena to aid in the fundraising.

School Community Council Chair Rhoda Ehlert explained, "The money raised goes to our new playground structure which is the Jupiter structure climbing apparatus. They had to go around and fundraising for an hour worth of skating." Students who campaigned for pledges and raised more than twenty-five dollars were rewarded with a pizza lunch courtesy of the SCC.

The Watson SCC is hoping to have the project funds in place by next summer with construction beginning shortly after.
