Ten extraordinary Canadians will be inducted this year into the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, which is the provinces highest honour. 

Rod Gantefoer was born in the town of Watson and is a long time resident of Saskatchewan.

Gantefoer served as the Minister of Finance and the Government house leader, he has spent countless hours building partnerships, developing fundraising initiatives, and working with the community, donors, and government in order to bring STARS Air Ambulance to the province.

He is also very involved with Parkinson Canada.

Lilydale Foods is also a product of Gantefoer hard work, he was the founding President and Chairman of Plains Poultry which turned into Lilydale.

Gantefoer continues to dedicate his life to keeping families and communities together and saving lives through his work in agriculture, philanthropy, and politics.

The Saskatchewan Order of Merit ceremony is scheduled to take place in Regina this fall.
