Ready to celebrate another year with awards, the Watson-Englefeld Wildlife Federation is holding their banquet on Saturday.

One of the main attractions of the annual event is the massive wild game food buffet, according to member Rick Haussecker.

"We have all members bring one of their favourite wildlife dishes that they make and we have a big buffet," he explained. "We have had up to 30 to 35 meat dishes. We also have roast beef, ham and turkey for people who don't care about the wild meat."

In addition to the food, which will be served at 6:00pm, there is many ways to win big prizes.

"We have the live auction to follow after. We have numerous items. We also have a silent auction table," said Haussecker. "Lots of chances to win something and it is a fun evening with a lot of socializing."

Haussecker says that funds raised from the evening go towards community projects.

"We're doing a lot of work towards the youth in our communities. We're possibly shooting for a pretty good project in the summer," he noted. "We're looking at setting up a trout pond in Watson. Our funds are kind of going towards that."

The event is being held at the Watson Civic Center, beginning at 5:00pm. Tickets are available only at the door.
