The town of Watson was host to a very spiritual guest this past weekend.

The Watson Community CWL Breakfast took place on Saturday, November 3rd. This was the 8th annual event for the town of Watson, it had originally started as a prayer meeting. However, when the whole community wanted a way to participate, they became a town-wide breakfast program. The event is led by a speaker and usually contains a live music act. Hot breakfast is provided, and the whole community can come out and join in on the festivities. The breakfast was a great way to stay connected with neighbors, families, and friends. The proceeds all go back towards the breakfast program, to keep it running year in and year out.

Ingrid Eggerman, one of the main event organizers, gave us a small recap of the events that took place. "Well, we were served a delicious hot breakfast to start our morning. This was your standard breakfast, with sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast" said Eggerman. "This was all served by the Watson Motor Inn."

Eggerman added, "We usually have a speaker address us after breakfast, and we get separate live music. This year, we were fortunate enough that our musician, who was so giving of himself, wanted to do the speaking as well." "We were all enamored by his story and the struggles of his journey." Troy MacNaughton, or known by his stage name, Troy Mac, performed his live segment at the breakfast. Growing up in Norquay, Mac has plenty of experience with small towns. Recently coming back from recording in the United States, he put on a show that was sure to melt the hearts of all that attended. With his main inspiration for his music being his religion, he offers a unique take on the personal plight of anyone trying to find purpose in their lives.

Eggerman also stated it is important to the community to get such a highly touted guest. "It was very important, not only for the breakfast goers but for the whole town" Eggerman added. "We had people who were very inspired, the majority were driven to tears by the speech he delivered." She continued, "He is a very prayerful witness, he offered personal prayer to members of the audience. This just goes to show the kind of character he has, and the reason why we wanted to bring him in."

The event was well attended, with around 45 taking in the festivities. For just 25 dollars per person or 40 for a pair, patrons were treated to a great morning of worship, and an even greater event of community bonding.
