Due to reservoir work and a dryer spring a water conservation advisory continues in Humboldt.

Non-essential use is what they are asking residents to continue to avoid according to Director of Community Development Jennifer Brooks.

"The city expects work to be completed at the reservoir within the next week or so and so we still strongly encourage residents to limit non-essential uses. Delay watering your lawn, delay washing your vehicle, take shorter showers if you can and really help us conserve water over this short term while we make long term improvements to our water supply."

The advisory was issued on Tuesday to ensure there is enough water for core and emergency use within the city.

Brooks did want to commend residents, she said so far water levels remain normal thanks to people obliging by the advisory.

"We want residents to know it is making a difference, the city's water supply remains adequate at the moment."

The city will continue to monitor the water storage situation and will continue to provide updates as conditions change.
