The Lanigan Pool fell just short $250,000 to go towards renovations.

On October 21st at the Lanigan School Auditorium, the town of Lanigan gathered to witness the winner of the Kraft Heinz Project Play Contest. The contest awards cash prizes for recreational facility upgrades with over 2.9 million dollars to over 77 communities in its existence.

This year the four finalists were the Lanigan Swimming Pool, Larch Hills Nordic Trails Lighting Project in Salmon Arm, BC, Lamont Sports Park in Saugeen Shores, Ontario, and Twin Elm Rugby Park in Nepean, Ontario. The winner of the grand prize would be Lamont Sports Park in Saugeen Shores, Ontario.

"We're just so thankful for the support over the last few days. All the time people put into helping us get to first place, but we just want to thank you to the community, surrounding towns, and neighbouring provinces as well," said Shelby Elke, fundraising member of the water park.

Despite not winning the grand prize, the Lanigan Pool will still receive $25,000 to put towards the $2.1 million project.
