People in Wadena and area are set to enjoy their Town and Country Fair.

The fair is complete with entertainment Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Isla Kiland is from the Town and Country Fair Committee.

She talks about how the weekend kicks off.

"On Friday night it all kicks off. We've got DJ Romel as our entertainment. We're also having a family bonfire and fireworks at dusk. Saturday morning, it kicks off with a pancake breakfast at the Wadena Hall from 7:30 to 10:30, followed by our Main Street parade at 10:30 with the Dixielanders."

Kiland explains what makes the Wadena Fair worth attending.

"I really think that there's just activities for all different ages. We've got the Gymkhana, chuckwagons, chariots, demo derby, and then all of the kids entertainment. From Friday to Sunday there's just activities for all ages."

Kiland describes a new event coming to the fair this year, the Powerwheels.

"That will be taking place at the intermission of the derby. It's $5 registration to win prizes. That will take place, the registration, at intermission, which will probably be at about 5 o'clock. That's our first ever of doing the Powerwheels."

This is the 47th year for the Wadena Town and Country Fair.

Weekend passes are available: $20 for adults, $15 for students.

Day passes also available: $15 for adults, $10 for students
