Wadena Town Council has approved a near $50,000 renovation of its campground facilities.

"This is very exciting, to have the funding to put toward a facility like this and give the users a better place to go for showering and changing when they use the campground," parks and recreation director Chad Glasser said.

The "decrepitchange room building was in need of significant repairs. The renovations will add a new tin roof and siding, and re-do the interior walls with a material used in car washes that is easy to clean and resists mold.

The interior will see new bathroom and shower fixtures, lights, and benches.

Glasser hopes the renovations will draw more people to the campground, which has a playground, six 30-amp campsites and a nearby pool.

The renovations are scheduled to start in the next week and finish by the campground's opening on the May long weekend.
