Curling in Wadena received a star-studded guest over the past weekend.

Marc Kennedy took part in the Health Action Auction and Celebrity Dinner, on Friday evening.

The 2-time Olympic gold medalist was making a presentation, as well as being a celebrity ambassador for the weekend.

The evening started off with a roast beef supper, proceeding into a live auction. Starting at 8:00 pm, Marc made a 45-minute speech.

Gloria Leach, a committee member of Wadena Curling Club, said that getting Kennedy to Wadena is important to the community.

"Scott Comfort was really the driving factor in getting him here, Marc is such a great role model to have for all young curlers."

She continued, "It is important to have events like these, in order to continue running such a great community-minded organization."

The event on Friday was just one part of a star-studded curling weekend in Wadena.

Gerald Shymko Pat Simmons and Jan Bedker were all in attendance throughout the weekend.

The proceeds go towards any health-related projects in the community of Wadena.
