As the Village of Viscount continues to raise funds for the community recreation board, a pair of major fundraisers recently contributed big dollars.

On August 8th was the annual street dance which saw 700 people venture to the event that featured Saskatoon's Long Shot as entertainment.

Over $7,000 was raised from the event through the Viscount Rec Board, which will put aside a portion of the proceeds for a new zamboni.

Furthermore, between July 25th and August 15th, the board held a scrap tire clean-up.

During that period, they encouraged the public to drop off used tires which in turn are recycled into useful products.

A total of 6,000 tires were collected over the three week span.
