"The Way it once was" was on full display at the Humboldt Vintage Club Site on the weekend.

Sunday was their Vintage Day, as kids activities, a petting zoo, and several demos were available at the site.

Ken Klassen is the Past President of the Vintage Club.

He describes the experience for some of the attendees.

"I think it has a tremendous impact because it brings back many good memories for a lot of people, and for some others, maybe not so much because it was pretty labor intensive back in the old days, but there were always fun days."

Several demos and displays were set up, including chainsaw carving, blacksmithing, and grain grinding.

Klassen talks about the importance of Vintage day.

"The importance of the Vintage day is to keep alive the history of our pioneers of the past and to show the children and the kids what life was like back in the pioneer days."

Klassen also explains that the Vintage Club is also looking forward to their tractor pull coming up at the end of September.

"One event that we are going to be promoting is our Vintage tractor pulls, I believe it might be October first. That has really taken off right across the Province, it's being well attended no matter where these pulls are going and we've built a brand new track on our Vintage grounds and we're pretty proud of that track and we're waiting to do our first pull on it."

The Vintage Day is considered the biggest fundraiser for the Vintage Club all year.
