The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan have allocated funds to 42 projects in 35 communities in Saskatchewan through the Federal Gas Tax fund.

The GTF allows Saskatchewan municipalities to use federal dollars towards their infrastructure priorities which include energy systems.

One of the projects being supported by the GTF is the office furnace project, and community hall furnace project in the Village of Plunkett.

The Office furnace project will recieve $3,800 and the community hall project will get $10,790.

"The demand to develop and renew infrastructure is vital to the continued growth of Saskatchewan’s communities," Humboldt-Watrous MLA and Government Relations Minister Donna Harpauer said.  "Energy conservation projects such as these will help to meet the future needs of these municipalities, as well as improving the quality of life for their residents."

The upgrades being made around the province will improve energy efficiency and reduce utility costs for the RM's.

The Government is providing Saskatchewan with more than $59.1 million for community infrastructures in 2017-18.
