A local employee benefit providing company is being recognized nationally for their impressive year.

Doug Biehn, along with his son Eric and James Bodnar at Humboldt based Viking Benefit Solutions received two awards at the national conference of the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance plan.

Biehn explains more about how the program works.

"The Chamber of Commerce Group program is a national program sponsored by the Canadian Chambers. It was established in 1970 to help small business provide employee benefits and put them in a competitive situation to compete with bigger business."

The top one hundred Chambers Plan reps from across Canada were at the conference where Viking was honoured the "highest business retention" and "highest sales by territory."

Biehn says his team has had some help from other people along the way.

"We have a great group of individuals that work with us, the local Chamber has certainly been supportive about the program as well and the community. We certainly can't say enough about that, they've supported the Chamber program well."

The Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan provides benefits to more than 30,000 companies nationwide, locally Biehn says he works with over 200 employers.

Last year Viking was recognized with the award for Highest National Retention plus runner ups for Sales Excellence.
