Potatoes and carrots are being sold by 4 local girls, called the "Veggie Patch Girls."

Jocelyn and Claire Durand, along with Sierra and Shyanna Reich, sell the produce that they grow.

Along with making money by selling the produce, valuable lessons come along the way.

Sierra Reich describes what she has learned.

"I learned that for a good business to work you have to put time and effort into it."

Jocelyn Durand, one of the 4 members of the Veggie Patch Girls talks about how it all works.

"We grow potatoes and carrots every year and we sell them to make a profit. We donate 10 percent of them to them to the Food Bank and Soup Kitchen. Right now we're selling red potatoes for $1.00/pound, and carrots for $1.00/pound."

Reich talks about the future for the "Veggie Patch Girls" might look like.

"When Claire and Shyanna grow up and they're out of High School and everything, it might just be Jocelyn and I. We might have other friends joining us or something like that."

This is the 5th year the "Veggie Patch Girls" have been in operation.
