The Saskatoon RCMP have released more information regarding Monday's train/semi unit collision.

The accident occurred at 11:50 at the Crop Production Services Fertilizer distribution plant at Elstow. A north bound semi unit was attempting to cross the tracks and was struck by a west bound Canadian Pacific train.

The trailer was demolished and its load of non hazardous goods fertilizer was spilled. No one was injured in this collision.

The train consisted of four locomotives and approximately 75 assorted cars, three of the four locomotives and four cars carrying canola oil derailed but didn't spill. One of the locomotives did leak some diesel. The Allen fire department was on scene, and the  provincial spill centre was notified.

The 33 year old male driver of the semi was charged with proceeding from a stop sign before safe to do so.

Clean up should be completed on Tuesday.

Saskatoon RCMP has turned the investigation over to the CP Police.
