The U-Pick Cherry Orchard in Bruno is open for another year.

The Orchards were planted in the early 2000's, and are open to the public for picking.

Kendra Sorokosi tells us how one can go about picking their cherries.

"People can come to our front office, our hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday. It's $10 per 4-litre pail, and we request that people bring their own pail."

She tells us more of the special kind of cherries that can be picked.

"Our cherries here are a sweet-tart cherry. They are good for picking and eating but they are also great for baking, that's the most common use. We have a variety of different cherries here, some are sweeter than others."

Sorokoski goes on to tell us how long they hope the orchard to be open for.

"It is currently open now and it will be open for another two to three weeks as long as they're ripe. Some of them are towards the end of their ripening stage, and others are still in the middle of ripening."

Those wanting to try the cherries can visit the St. Therese Institue in Bruno. During office hours you can ask where to pick, or on evenings and weekends, you can follow the posted signs and instructions.
