Early Thursday morning, the Melfort RCMP, with assistance from the Prince Albert based detachment of the Saskatchewan Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit(SCFSEU) arrested two men and laid drug and weapon charges.

After a short investigation, just before 4 o'clock the Melfort police stopped a vehicle which subsequently led to a home on the 100 block of Millburn Street where they seized methamphetamine, morphine and a firearm.

47 year-old Melfort residence Robert Sauter is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possess Morphine for the Purpose of Trafficking plus four gun related offenses.

36 year-old Prince Albert man Mario Benincasa is facing the Possession of Methamphetamine charge.

There was no mention of court dates in Saturday afternoon's news release.
