Christmas dinner will have people gobbling for turkey this year once again.

Up until the end of New Years, people celebrating a holiday feast can get turkeys at a fair price. Young utility birds are worth $2.18 per kilogram or 99 cents per pound in the surrounding area.

Turkey is still the traditional meal during Christmas dinner, especially when people are having large celebrations with the entire family.

"Since the majority of people celebrate Christmas, the vast amount of people are celebrating with a turkey on their table," said Dave Doepker, manager at Humboldt Sobeys.

Most stores will have the same prices for turkeys around this time of year to stay in competition with other markets.
