PARTNERS Family Services is renewing its Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) with an added twist.

Formerly, Triple P would run over a period of weeks, but now they are cramming it down into two days, says Coordinator Teryn Ulriksen.

"We're hoping to make it easier for people to get to because eight weeks is a lot to commit to, so two days is maybe easier for people to come."

The program will run January 26 in the evening and January 27 all day.

Ulriksen says that with the change to the program, they're ensuring that parents don't have to go through the hassle of finding someone to watch the kids.

"We're offering child care and we're offering lunch so if people do have kids that need to be looked after, we can take care of that too."

The program is open to those who are responsible for kids age 0 to 12, be it parents, grandparents, or caregivers.

"This group we are doing offers all 17 strategies that the Triple P has to offer. It's about taking what you are already doing and putting a positive spin on it and giving you some extra tools that maybe you haven't thought of."

Ulriksen says they are looking forward to having another session of Triple P, and that it has been a successful avenue for them.

"It's a really good program. It's one that we have done a few times over the last couple of years here in Humboldt."
