A handful of concerned stakeholder groups in the province are traveling around to gather feedback and perhaps ideology that can be presented to the government and perhaps be used in shaping the future.

The Chamber of Commerce, the Mining Association, the Agricultural Producers, the Manufacturing Council and Saskatchewan Construction Association are all involved in the TransformSK initiative.

Thursday night in Humboldt the entourage will host a public meeting from 7-9pm.

"We're meeting with folks in communities to basically talk to them about what they see as the opportunities in front of us as a province, what the challenges are that we're facing and how we can take advantage of those opportunities and address those challenges and move forward with a prosperous future," explained SCA President Mark Cooper.

Once the budget, which is rising to a one billion dollar shortfall this year, was released these handful of organizations wanted to pursue this opportunity and not have a political avenue.

"We're having a conversation about where we're going as a province," Cooper continued. "To look at education, to look at healthcare, to look at aboriginal engagement, to look at economic development, all the realms of policy and have a discussion about how do we structure and set ourselves up for success moving forward."

You do not need to pre-register, there is no charge to attend. It will take place in meeting room 3 at the Uniplex.

So far they have been to Prince Albert, Wednesday they will be in Yorkton.

Cooper says early feedback has been well received.

"Each community is a little different and they face unique challenges and so sharing their perspectives but then also getting them to think beyond their own borders and think about what we're facing as a province as a whole."

According to the SCA, this is the largest "pan-industry" consultation in Saskatchewan's history.
