Sledding is a popular activity around Saskatchewan and one group known as the Snowblasters are preparing for this winter.

The Snowblasters are a community based sledding association for the community of Naicam and Saskatchewan. They have been in operation for about 40 years now. This winter, the club has made some changes to their trail.

300 kilometers of trails are managed by the Snowblasters year round to give their members and people in the community an authentic sledding experience each winter. This year some changes had to be made to their trails such as rerouting, maintenance, grass cutting, and permanent posting in the community pastures in the area. The reason for the rerouting was due to houses being built near the trails or Rural Municipalities in the area requested the club to move the trails out of the ditches.

Once enough snow comes down, the trails will be packed down so they can be opened for the winter. The exact date the trails reopen for 2018-2019 is unknown.

The Naicam Snowblasters' goal each and every year is to provide safe and entertaining trails for sledding through each winter for surrounding communities and Saskatchewan. This winter the Snowblasters are hosting their 24th Poker Rally on January 26th in Naicam.
