Depressurization of the water system in Naicam has led to a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory being issued for all users of the town's system.

The notice went out as of 8:00am on Tuesday morning.

The Water Security Agency states that although contamination is low risk, they do recommend that if you live in the community, you do not consume the water.

Any water that is to be used for drinking purposes should be boiled for at least one minute prior to usage. That includes water that could be ingested through brushing teeth and washing fruits or vegetables.

Once system maintenance is complete and tests come back negative, the advisory will be lifted.
