Slushy and icy road conditions are being ruled as a potential cause of a fatal crash south of Tisdale early Wednesday afternoon.

The Tisdale RCMP say the collision occurred around 12:30 approximately 23 kilometres south of the town on Highway 35.

The 67 year-old driver of a pick-up truck involved was pronounced dead at the scene, a 30 year-old man behind the wheel of a semi was treated at the scene and released. Both men are from the Tisdale area. No names will be released.

Traffic was restricted to one lane for five hours during the investigation but it is now open fully.

Local RCMP were assisted by Tisdale Fire and Rescue, Tisdale EMS and the Traffic Reconstruction Unit of the RCMP.
