Prizing, sponsorship, and overall turnout for this year's Ice Fishing Derby in Lake Lenore was better than ever, according to Lions Club president-elect, Beryl Bauer.

There were 675 fishermen entered in the Lions Club event. Bauer submitted the results from Saturday's competition. (Totals reflect dollar amounts won):

$8, 439.00 - Largest Fish Caught (10.38 lb Pike) by Shauna Crozon of Naicam, SK

$4,244.00 - Second Largest Fish (4.98 lb Pike) by Dwight Brost from Regina, SK

$2,546.00 - Third Largest Fish (4.95 lb) by Daniel McCallum 

$1, 697.00 - Smallest FIsh (0.08 lb Walleye) by Justin Zadorozniak from Foam Lake, SK

$500.00 from Horizon Fertilizer - Largest Walleye (3.58 lbs) - Justin Sullivan

$250.00 from David & Marlene Pfeiffer of Lake Lenore - Largest Perch (1.55lbs) - Justin Bruce

55 fish (32 Pike, 19 Walleye & 4 Perch) were caught and released from Lake Lenore at the Derby. Every participant who caught a fish received a prize valued between $15-150.

The Lions Club of Lake Lenore is planning on pulling out all the stops next year, according to Bauer. The derby will be celebrating its 10th year in January 2019.
