West Texas Intermediate oil hovers around $67 a barrel and is predicted to get into the $70's by summer time. A year ago from this time, WTI was averaging right around $50 a barrel. It's traditionally believed that when oil prices rise to a higher amount so does the Canadian dollar but that's not the case this time around in 2018.

The average gas price in Canada right now is $1.28, however, the average gas price in Saskatchewan is $1.15. Both numbers are expected to rise in the coming months.
