The City of Humboldt's performing arts will receive an influx of funds stemming from a concert held at Jubilee Hall.

Huron Carole with Tom Jackson took place on December 9th  and raised $11,000 in profits that will go back into the Convention Centre.

"It was a very good night for those who were in attendance, Tom Jackson and his crew virtually waived his their fee to come out here, so that was very generous of them to do that. The profit from the concert will go directly back into the convention center and the performing arts," said Mike Ulriksen, Director of Community and Leisure Services.

The focus of the $11,000 coming to the Convention Centre will be on small things that, in turn, will benefit all the future performing arts and acts coming into the city Humboldt

"We had informed everyone in advance of the concert that the money will be used for things that would improve the performing arts and other events that come into the facilities. It will mostly all be small equipment, some new backdrop curtains, new podiums, some audio/video, things like that. They will improve the overall experience of those coming to Humboldt and using the facility and will also make it easier to attract and bring those types of events to the community."

The Huron Carole concert was sold out at Jubilee Hall.
