The Terry Fox Walk was once again held in Humboldt's Glenn Hall Park early Friday afternoon.

Students from St. Dominic, St. Augustin, and Humboldt Public Schools participated in the walk this year, as well as members from Futuristic Industries.

Andrea Fossen is one of the co-organizers of the Humboldt Walk.

She talks about the reason why the walk continues year after year.

"I think that many of us have been touched by Cancer over the years, and many of us have lost some special people. We want to keep the Terry Fox Walk alive because we still don't have that cure for Cancer that we're looking for, so we're going to keep walking in Terry's honour."

Fossen, from St. Dominic School, explains why there is so much motivation to participate.

"I think the motivation is all the family that we love so dearly, and that we want to prevent other people from suffering. That was Terry's dream, to keep other people out of the suffering that he had to go through."

Fossen describes certain fundraisers that different schools did, all to raise money for cancer research.

"We (St. Dominic) have often done a hat day, and we also had students that could bring a dollar to wear a hat or they could also colour a shoe with Terry's name on. I know the Public school did some things where motivation to raise money to eventually tape their principal to a wall, so each school has their own little gimmick to try and get kids to bring money."

Around one thousand people attended the Terry Fox walk on Friday afternoon.
