Humboldt Residents gathered at Midland Glass to help raise money for Cancer research on Sunday.

The Terry Fox run was ran, with the starting point at the local business.

Teri Tarrant is a teacher at HCI.

She talks about how she started with the Terry Fox Run.

"I started out in High School when I was a member of the HCI Girls Soccer team. My coach really instilled that this was a great cause to be a participant in so I researched it a little bit and I realized that the Terry Fox Foundation is a really good thing to be a part of. And cancer has really hit home for everybody so it really is a good cause."

Tarrant explains what makes the Terry Fox Foundation a great cause to support.

"The Terry Fox Foundation really uses a lot of their money to cancer research as opposed to trying to advertise their foundation. So I think that people know that their money is actually going towards finding a cure for cancer is a huge thing."

The HCI girls soccer team organized the event again this year.

Tarrant talks about her history with the run, as well as the girls soccer team.

"This will be my 14th run, it will be the 10th year that the girl's soccer team will be organizing it as so that's kind of a huge thing for our team as well."

The Terry Fox run takes place in over 9,000 communities across Canada.

The run has raised over $650 million since it began in 1981.
