580 schools in Saskatchewan participated in the Terry Fox Run Friday afternoon.

Students from many schools in Humboldt and surrounding area each had their own route for the terry fox run.

Humboldt Public school had their run take place on the track at Glenn hall park where all students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 ran at 1:30 P.M.

On Thursday, the day before the run, students also raised funds for cancer research with Hat day. Students could wear a hat on Thursday but had to bring a donation. Donations of all sizes were accepted from the children at HPS.

"It's a great learning opportunity for the students but more importantly, just because so many people are affected by cancer, If it's not in their immediate family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins, so I think its a relatable thing for a lot of people," said Jacquelynn Souter-Elliott, a teacher at Humboldt Public School on the importance of the run.

St. Dominic was the other school in Humboldt that took part in the Terry Fox Run.
