In times of tragedy, people gather together to heal.  To hug, cry, love and pray.

That was what tonight (Saturday) is all about at the Gathering Place in Humboldt.  The hall is open for anyone to stop by for conversation, some good food, prayers and a shoulder to lean on.

Pastor Ron Marshall told us why it was important for them to host a night like this.

"We as a family of God were devastated when we heard the news about the accident and we wanted to invite the community to come out to pray and comfort those who have been affected by the accident.  We appreciate the Broncos and their families and our heart goes out to them at their loss".

"Right now they just need our comfort and they just need to know what we are there for them.  A lot of people have received some devastating news and it's going to take some time and some healing.  The best we can do is be there for them and pray for them as best as we possibly can".

Tomorrow morning (Sunday) the Knights of Columbus are hosting a community pancake breakfast at 10 am at St. Augustine.

At 7 pm tomorrow night a public vigil will be held at the Uniplex in Humboldt.
