The Humboldt Vintage Club is putting on one of their biggest fundraisers of the year tomorrow.

The group will hold their annual Vintage Day at their site which is just south of Humboldt on Highway 20.

Past President Ken Klassen explains why they got started about a quarter of a century ago.

"The main purpose was to restore and collect articles of the past that our forefathers used. Specifically, our intent was to get items from the area, that was our objective."

Blacksmithing and threshing demonstrations, rope making, grain grinding, bindering and stooking are all on the agenda as well as kid's activities.

Klassen talks about Drake resident Jim Ewert and the machine he will bring to showcase.

"He's got a model-T Ford, and he's got a track conversion which was used during the war years because they couldn't get enough tractors, so this track unit was mounted onto this model-T, and it was used for pulling implements in the field. It's very rare to find something like that, but yhe's got one and he'll be coming out to do a demonstration."

Klassen explains the need for the fundraising efforts.

"We get absolutely no funding from any government. Even though we are a registered Agricultural Museum we have to raise all of the funds to keep this place alive, so we really look for your support to help us with this event."

The day begins with a pancake breakfast at eight followed by blacksmithing and threshing demonstrations, rope making, grain grinding, bindering and stooking.

It runs until the late afternoon.
