For the second year in a row, the strong person competition will be in Humboldt as part of the Summer Sizzler activities.

The Canadian Alliance of Amateur Strength Athletes is excited to not only feature men in the competition but they've also added ladies into the mix.

Brad Provick said there are many events within the competition, "this year we have a vehicle pull, last year we had a farmers walk that we're doing again, another event is the overhead press we have tire axles with truck tires on them pressing overhead, women will do lighter obviously the men will do heavier."

There's also a giant dumbbell press, giant concrete balls will be loaded onto boxes for the finale.

Provick explained why people should check it out, "it's a dynamic and unique sport and it's something that you can maybe see on TV but to see it live and to see people out there giving it there all and in a sport that there's really no big money attached to it, it's just for personal pride and to better themselves."

The free event begins at 1pm at the Uniplex curling rink on Saturday.
